ENDING SOON
Edit: extension, plus bonus theme option
Hello dear writers and readers,
We have decided to extend the contest for one month, since there are so few entries (what fun is that?) and the original contest was set to end tomorrow. Also, since white day was this past month, we've added an additional theme in light of the season finale of Tokyo Ghoul, *sob* (I prefer the mystery ending in the manga, personally.) the additional theme is the floating lanterns festival (in Japan this takes place in the summer). The floating lantern festival is an even during which people light paper lanterns and either launch them into the sky or set them afloat in the water with a message on them to guide the spirits of their deceased loved ones. Those of you who have seen the finale know why this is the additional chosen theme.
So now you have two options for the next month, to write something with the white day theme, or the floating lantern theme. But you may only have one entry, so I am also giving those who have already entered the chance to remove their current entry and change their theme if they'd like, to make it fair. But it's up to you! I look forward to seeing more entries!!!
Voting will begin May 1st and end may 15.
I'll be posting weekly reminders!
The theme will be White Day. For those who are not familiar, White Day is a confectionary holiday in Japan that was created as an "answer day" to Valentine's Day. In Japan women give gifts to men on Valentine's day often in the form of homemade chocolate to show appreciation, friendship or love to the men in their lives. On White day, men return the gesture (sometimes threefold) in the form of white chocolate, marshmallows or other gifts (like jewelery or lingerie).
So your challenge is to write a short fiction, storytelling picture (where you tell the story below in the description) or comic strip that involves Your imagining of White Day in the world of Tokyo Ghoul.
Rules:
1. may not qualify as having a mature rating (that way everyone can vote) pg-13 is fine. About mature rating qualifications according to DA FAQ #554: Is my deviation Mature Content?
2. Must involve White Day in some fashion (obviously)
3. No crossovers
4. May involve OC's and reader inserts or canon.
5. Only Fictions, Storytelling art, and comics.
6. Must be a member to participate
7. Story must be able to be told in one entry (so one comic strip page, a oneshot fic, or one storytelling art.
8. One entry per person
9. Work MUST be YOURS
10. Entries are due by the end of March

Have Fun!

Tokyo Ghoul RE: Chapter 49 Review
So I see some investigators getting ready for a battle and a ghoul saying "Here it Comes."
I see the ghouls do some flips and attacks.
Something chops up an investigator and another investigator calls out for Nezu Umeno.
It seems that something was the ghoul.
An investigator is told to dodge because the ghoul is about to attack.
However the little investigator named Yonebayashi is saved by another investigator.
He the investigator if Yonebayashi is okay and she just said thanks.
Soon, in the swing of time.. An investigator cut apart of the kagune from the ghoul.
Mutsuki is asked then to pin the ghoul down.
She has these things to pin
Holy crap
No spoiler but damn,
chapter 49=bloodbath
Also. Getting harder and harder to find places to read TG:re (especially places that don't spam the hell out of you) because of lovely copyright laws. They keep getting removed.
Tokyo Ghoul RE: Chapter 48 Review
Well, this chapter came to a turn. Haise was gonna talk to Shuu but Shuu didn't want to because his way of surviving is fighting and so they fought.
Also, on Shuu's friend ghoul girl tried to fight an investigator and remembered a way to fight is the emotions that bind her.
It looks as if she wins. (The ghoul)
On the other side, it seems like the investigators discuss something. I didn't really understand it. :/
Then another happened....
It looks as if Uta comes to the battle.
I wonder what he could be doing....
To me, I hope that Shuu and Haise talk.
I know Shuu wants Kaneki back real bad, and so I wonder how that's going to h
Friday feature
This piece really captured me. It's very well written and features a character who doesn't get a lot of positive attention. The imagery is beautiful.
